Welcome to “The Ultimate Soloist Challenge!” We are so excited to be offering a different type of competition. The Ultimate Soloist Challenge is a competition held only for soloists, duos and trios. There is no team event. Competition will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Colonial Theatre in Idaho Falls. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to let us know.

* Awards… each dancer will receive an award for each dance they perform, but we offer something fun and unique with this competition and are innovative with our specialty awards as well. All information is on the awards page.

~ 3 and under is FREE

A few things to take note of:
* Please make sure you bring your music on a CD that is labeled with your name, your studio/school and the title of your routine. It is strongly suggested that you have a back up copy of your music. There should only be one song per CD.
* There will be no videotaping allowed during any performance. We are sorry for the inconvenience, but we put this policy in place to protect choreography. There will be a professional videographer with DVD’s to be purchased.
*Directors… There is an ad flyer enclosed for your studio to let your dancers know about the competition.
**The competition, its directors, nor the Colonial Theatre are responsible for any personal properties nor any injuries sustained during competition.’
AWARDS
* Each dancer will be given an award… placement will be Queen, 1st Attendant, 2nd Attendant etc… Each queen in addition to their award will receive a tiara. Kings will receive an extra award.
* Overall Soloist… this is the highest point soloist of the day, will receive a ca$h award.
* Overall Duet… this is the highest point duo of the day, both participants will receive a ca$h award.
* Overall Trio… this is the highest point trio of the day, all participants will receive a ca$h award.
* Judges Favorites… each judge will pick their favorite performance, based off their opinion only.
* Most Difficult by Age… this award will be awarded based off the judges’ opinion on the most difficult routine considering age, skill level and the technique in each routine.
* Best Stage Presence… this award will go to the dancer(s) that judges feel had the best stage presence of all numbers.
* Most Entertaining Jazz/Hip Hop/Tap routine… this award will go to the performance that the judges agree is most “entertaining and memorable”.
* Most Dramatic Lyrical… this award will be awarded to the lyrical that judges feel was performed with the most emotion.
* Best Technique by Age… this award will be awarded to the dancer with the best technique in their routine according to the judges… age will be highly considered.
* Most Innovative Choreography… this award will go to the choreographer for the routine that the judges choose for the most innovative.
* Overall Performance… will be awarded to the highest scoring routine of the day!!
**Please note… any ties for the awards will be decided by a judges vote!**
